We are posting a translation of a letter we have received from one of the orphanages we currently support with an update of their current situation. The letter reads: Dear Brothers and Sisters of New Life for Children Ministries, My name is Marina Grigorian, and I am the director of our orphanage, Spring of Life. Our orphanage center was started 15 years ago. During this time, we have had over 350 children come through our home. Among them were orphaned who lost both parents, children whose parents lost their rights, and children that were just abandoned by their parents. As of today, we have 26 kids ranging between 3-21 years of age. The goal of our center is not to just clothe and feed these children, but also to help them learn about and find Jesus, teach them to be kind and loving kids, and help them forget the anger and hurt they endured in their past life. Most kids have found their foster parents and many kids have been adopted. Some kids were returned to their biological parents after their parents had improved and were given back their rights. Some kids who are over 18 still stay with us as they have no where to go. With God’s help and thanks to the generosity of compassionate people, we are trying to provide a place for them to stay. Several of our kids were baptized and are members of our church. Like with any big family, we have had weddings and already have grandchildren. Our organization rents a building as we do not own one. We are thankful that the government of our state helps us cover the expenses of leasing this building and also helps with utility bills. Things like renovations of the building, food, clothes, shoes, school supplies, health and wellness for the children and payment to the faculty comes from donations from our friends. In Ukraine, as of January 1, 2017, a new law was passed that requires a mandatory increase in minimum wage- it has doubled. Because of this we are now having to pay more for taxes and retirement plans as well. The orphanage exists because of generous offerings and contributions. Now with this law, we have unforeseen and unexpected additional financial burdens/expenses. We are always thankful to everyone who helps our center with our needs and thank everyone for any help that is needed to sustain our children. May God bless you all! With love,  Happy New Year! In just a little over a year, for 7 orphans who no longer had a place to live, we have been able to provide studio apartments, complete renovations as needed, help supply their home with furniture, appliances and other necessary necessities to establish a good foundation they need to start their new journey. Throughout the year, we sent care packages with clothing and food to the orphanages as well as Christmas presents for all the children who otherwise would not have received anything. We were also able to fund and supply summer camps for two orphanages. There is no way to fully express our gratitude for your loyalty. We at New Life for Children are continually inspired by the dedication and generosity of donors like yourself who answer the call to give again and again. These services bring so much joy to the kids. Together we are transforming lives and building brighter futures-but without you, it just wouldn’t be possible. We have completed 2016. In that time, a lot has changed in our lives. The most important has remained our priority- God’s mercy, His blessing hand, and His love has never left our children’s center. God is never late. He takes care of our spiritual health, keeps our souls free of sin, and He doesn’t forget our daily needs. He makes sure we have clothes, warmth and also strengthens and heals us. All praise and thanks be to Him! All the blessings and mercy we have received is done through people that He has chosen and directs through His will. He finds these people in Ukraine and America. May God bless all these people with his abundant blessings. We thank you again for your care for the children that live in our orphanage center. Everyone of them pray and thank God for all the people that have shown them compassion and empathy. We ask that you pray and don’t forget about us. Since times are difficult and unsettling, our circumstances of life are constantly changing. In the past year we have been able to add insulation to be able to conserve heat, paint the outside of the building, upgrade the foundation and change out all 4 entry doors. We also wanted to thank you for your help with organizing the summer camp for the kids. We are thankful that with God’s mercy and your help, the food supply and assortment has increased. We are here with another update in regards to our acquisition of apartments for the children graduating from the orphanages. Today we are trying to raise money for renovations of an apartment we were able to get for Diana from Dzherelo Zhittya. Here are a few more pictures of the apartment. As you can see, it needs some work.      We have recently received a thank you letter from Dzherelo Zhittya (Source of Life) orphanage. Here is the translation: -Greetings to our brothers and sisters from the mission “New Life For Children ministry”. We have received your transfer today of 500 dollars. Everything is moving along at its own pace. The children are studying, some are preparing for exams. Some we have to force to do their homework. Some happily help around with the chores. Others don’t want any part in it. The children are all different and in that their characters are also different. The renovations are slowly moving along. New children have been added. More work has been added in return. Lots of different paperwork. But, praise God, a little at a time it is getting taken care of. As it is written: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.” And my the Lord help you, our dear friends, your families, the entire Church of Christ. We have not seized our work with the orphanages and have a lot to update you on. There was a lot going on these past four months so look forward to the updates within the next few days. We have purchased several apartments for some of the children who are “graduating” from the orphanages. Also the first apartment for Valeria Kudrya is finally nearing completion in terms of renovations and repairs. Pictures and more details will be available in the update. In regards to the Source of Life (Dzherelo Zhittya) orphanage we have begun supporting this year, we have received thank you letters which we will share with you as well. We are very, very thankful for your continued support! We wouldn’t be able to do this without you. We were recently acquainted with another orphanage, Source of Life, located in the same area of Ukraine as the current one we support. This orphanage used to have an older gentleman from the United States sponsoring them with many material necessities making it possible for them to get by. Recently they have lost contact with their only sponsor and the products have stopped coming in. We have decided to take over the sponsorship and help this orphanage in any way we can. We are looking for help in making this possible. Any donation you can make, no matter how much, will be of big help for us.
